2 ASIs closed in Barguna

BARGUNA: Two Assistant Sub Inspectors of Barguna Sadar Thana were closed for their alleged involvement in entertaining a detained Jamaat leader.

The ASIs are Abu Hanif and Nuruzzaman.

On Sunday night, police held four Jamaat-Shibir men, including District Jamaat Secretary Maulana Afzalur Rahman, from Lakurtala area, outside of the town apprehending subversive acts.

After arrest, Afzalur Rahman was asked to sit on a seat of ASI though others were kept in Thana custody.

The authorities concerned formed a probe body headed by Additional Police Super M Jahangir Alam after a report regarding the issue was published in banglanews on November 5.
 
After primary investigation, the two ASIs were closed in police line for neglecting in duty, said Barguna Police Super Shyamol Kumar Nath.

Further investigation is underway, he added.
