DHAKA: Ruling Awami League Advisory Council member Suranjit Sengupta MP, also minister without portfolio, said his party does not disavow Dr Muhammad Yunus as he is our pride.
“But we don’t want him to be involved with an international affair when the country is forwarding. World Bank will review its decision”, he expressed hope.
The senior parliamentarian came up with the remarks while addressing at a meeting in city’s Shilpakala Academy on Friday morning.
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organized the programme in which State Minister for Law Qamrul Islam addressed as the prime guest and the organization vice-president ATM Shamsuzzaman presided over the meeting.
Regarding BNP leader Moudud Ahmed’s speech ‘government is fighting against the World Bank, advocate Qamrul said, “We are not fighting. WB will realize their mistake. The construction work of the Padma-bridge will be started soon on our own fund.”
