FROM RAMU, COX’S BAZAR: Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia Saturday categorically said BNP would investigate Ramu violence fairly if the party assumes power.
The opposition leader of the party came up with the assurance to local Buddhist community at Ramu of the district during her visit on Saturday afternoon.
She said, “The silence of the incumbent government in this regard proved that they instigated the violence and they have not taken any action against the culprits.”
Indicting the Buddhists, she added: “Don’t be frustrated and BNP will try the persons involved in the violence. The affected houses and temples will be renovated.”
BNP acting secretary general of the party Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and BNP leader Sukomal Barua accompanied the chairperson.
