DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Friday inaugurated a specialized website for the holy Quran with Bangla, English and Arabic versions of the holy script along with pronunciation and translation.
The inaugural programme was held at Osmani Memorial auditorium in the city at about 11:00am.
Hasina said, “The Quran was revealed in month of Ramadan. So, the special website in the month was inaugurated to facilitate people to know about Quran.”
The website will play effective role to inform people about significance of the holy Quran, she added.
The website has been developed by Religion Ministry involving Tk 60 lakh.
The website includes It also contains audio and visual contents.
Religion Secretary Abdul Awal Wednesday said the digitalization of the holy book started in December in 2010 following the Prime Minister’s directive.
