DHAKA: Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) director general Golam Mostafa Kamal said the inflation rate decreased in July in contrast of June due to price reduction of rice.
He came up with the disclosure at BBS auditorium in the city Sunday.
According to the BBS report, the overall inflation rate in July was 8.03 while it was 8.56 in June.
Moreover, food sector and food sub sector inflation rate in July were 6.30a and 11.54 respectively while those were 7.08 and 11.72 in June.
In addition, the bureau has been doing the data collection task from grassroots level frequently every month since 1973-74.
