Varendra University launches journey in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: Varendra University, first private university in Rajshahi, has started its formal journey.

The university has started its academic activities in Kazla area under Motiher Police Station in the city.

Professor Dr Osman Ghani, retired professor of Applied Physics and Electronics, took the charge of Vice-Chancellor of the university.

After getting necessary permission from the University Grants Commission (UGC), the university will admit students in six departments in the current summer session.

The departments are: Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Pharmacy, English, Business Studies and Law.

The university has been built as non-profitable and non-political one, said VC Prof Osman Ghani.
