DHAKA: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad alleged that the government has tarnished the image of the country on Padma Bridge issue.
The former president of the country came up with the allegation while addressing an Iftar party in Imanuel Center in city’s Gulshan area Saturday.
He said, “The government is only aimed at Padma Bridge in spite of noticing the deaths for adulterated foods.”
The government is not panicked yet, although some 13 girls died from eating adulterated lichi, he added.
He also demanded hanging law for the persons involved in adulteration.
The Iftar party was attended, among others, by city (north) JP president SM Foysal Chisti, presidium member Rawsan Ershad and Kazi Jafar Ahmed.
