JESSORE: The authorities of Michael Madhusudan (MM) College Monday closed the institution for indefinite period following a factional clash of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on the campus.
Some BCL men were injured in a clash erupted at 11:00am. Of them, two are in critical condition.
Following the incident, a tense situation was prevailing on the campus.
Later, an emergency teachers’ council meeting was held and took decision to shut down the college for indefinite period, said college Principal Ibadul Haq.
Deputy Commissioner and police super of the district have taken initiative to create congenial atmosphere on the campus, he added.
He further added that the campus will be reopened soon after settling the longstanding conflict between the two groups of BCL, the ruling party student wing.
