DHAKA: Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni Sunday sought assistance of the Qatar government and entrepreneurs in five specific sectors, including infrastructure development.
The foreign minister asked the Qatari government to invest in order to upgrade Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, purchase dredgers for river dredging, construct Dhaka bypass, set up a power plant and set up special economic zone.
The ruling Awami League lawmaker minister made the plea when a 10-member delegation led by visiting Qatari deputy minister for State and International Cooperation Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammad Bin Jabar Al Thani called on her at a city hotel.
Among others, high officials of Bangladesh government attended the meeting.
