DHAKA: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader categorically said that the construction work of much-talked about Padma Bridge will begin by this tenure of Awami League government.
He came up with such observation while inaugurating the carpeting work of 4-lane Nabinagar-Chandra road in the outskirt of the capital on Friday.
Criticizing the recent remark of BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed on the construction of the bridge, Obaidul said, “We have to show reason to the people if we fail to start the construction work of the Padma Bridge.”
“Construction of the bridge will begin by this term and Finance Minister knows well from where he will collect funding as it’s his duty”, he said.
The minister said, “We are committed to build the bridge. If we obtain success the critics including Moudud have to be humiliated.”
