Humayun’s first Janaza within minutes

NEW YORK: The first Namaz-e- Janaza of eminent soap-opera maker Humayun Ahmed is set to be held within a few minutes here.

Source said the preparation is this regard is underway and he has already been bathed.

Brother-in-law of the noted writer’s ex-wife Jamal Abedi, Anisur Rahman Pasha and uncle Ibrahi Chowdhury completed the ritual.

The janaza will be held at Muslim Center in Jamaica after Jumma prayer (NY time).

However, journalists were obstructed to take any photograph.

Regarding the matter, Humayun’s mother-in-law Tahura Begum MP said, “Humayun forbade taking any photo of his body.”

Humayun Ahmed breathed his last in Bellevue Hospital of USA on Thursday night after a nine-month battle against colon cancer.

The body of eminent soap-opera maker is expected to arrive in Dhaka Saturday night or Sunday morning (BD local time).

Bangladesh’s UN mission and family of the author have taken the decision jointly that his body would be sent to home by a flight on Friday night (New York local time).
