MOULVIBAZAR: Three people were killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a Pickup van in Panidhar area on Baralekha-Kulaura road Saturday noon.
The deceased were identified as Chuna Mia, 35, son of late Machddar Ali of Madatpur upazila, Aljan, 32, son of Pin of Gazipur village under Kulaura upazila and Junel Ahmed, 18, son of Shahadat Ali of Mouban area.
Baralekha Thana Officer-in-charge (OC) MD Hassanuzzaman told banglanews, “A Pickup van collided head-on with a CNG run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction in Panidhar area at about 12pm, killing two people on the spot and injuring others.”
Critically injured auto-rickshaw driver Junel and passenger Noman was rushed to upazila health complex where duty doctor declared Junel dead.
Later, Noman was admitted to Sylhet Medical College Hospital.
