DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Thursday alleged that Opposition Leader Khaleda Zia is conspiring to bring a state of emergency in the country.
The premier, also ruling Awami League president, came up with this allegation at her concluding address in the 15th session of the parliament.
“According to the opposition leader we will impose state of emergency in the country,” Hasina said adding, “Why will we impose state of emergency? What has happened in the country?”
“We have assumed power in a democratic way,” she said.
Indicating the opposition leader, Hasina said, “Khaleda imposed state of emergency in the country and she wants to have this in future again.”
“Trial of the war criminals would be complete in the soil of country. She will not be able to save them by all means,” primer added.
They will not facilitate her for whom she is conspiring to bring a state of emergency in the country, Hasina observed.
The big-wings behind the scene only will be the beneficiary of the state of emergency, she added.
Hasina alleged that Khaleda announced agitation in the month of victory to save the war criminals.
