FROM SANGSAD BHABAN: Post and Telecommunications Minister Raziuddin Ahmed Razu Sunday categorically said the government will get Tk 1,047 crore as revenue to mobile operators of the country.
There is a total of Tk 469 crore as revenue to Grameenphone currently, he added.
The minister came up with the disclosure in response to a question from lawmaker Molla Jalal Uddin in question-hour of the parliament.
Raziuddin Razu said, “The government has some Tk 253 crore unpaid revenue from Banglalink, Tk 229 crore from Robi, Tk 46 crore from Citycell, Tk 23 crore from Airtel and Tk 26 crore from Teletalk.”
He also told the House that the government earned some Tk 3,936 core during fiscal year 2011-12 as license fees and spectrum fees.
Of the total amount, Grameenphone paid Tk 1,712.18 crore, Robi Tk 940.12 crore, Banglalink Tk 998.7 crore, Citycell Tk 211.86 crore, Airtel Tk 58.96 crore and Teletalk paid Tk 14.48 crore, he told the House.
In response to another question from lawmaker Fazilatunnesa Bappy, he said, “The process of providing 3G license will end by this year.”
