JESSORE: An alleged thief was lynched in Dighori village under Jhikargacha upazila of the district early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Dulu Gazi, 45, hailed from Baussha village of the same upazila.
Sub-Inspector of Jhikargacha Thana Imdad said, “Dulu was stealing fish from the pond of Nurul Huda and sensing this Nurul Huda and some other people beat Dulu severely, leaving him dead on the spot.”
On information, police rushed to the spot on Tuesday morning and sent the body to Jessore Medical College Hospital, he added.
The SI again said wife of Dulu has filed a case against Nurul Huda and four other persons in this connection.
