RAJSHAHI: State Minister for primary and mass education Motahar Hossain categorically said teachers of 24,000 registered primary schools will be nationalized after Eid.
“In 1973, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had nationalized the primary schools observing the sufferings of the teachers and following his footprints his daughter Sheikh Hasina will also nationalize their jobs,” he said.
The state minister came up with the declaration while addressing a discussion in Bagmara upazila of the district Saturday.
He said, “One teacher will be appointed against each 50 students and each school will have at least four teachers.”
Besides, the gap of the teachers on maternal leave will be filled up by part-time teachers, he added.
The minister also emphasized on 100 percent attendance of the teachers in the schools daily and warned against unnecessary absent.
The discussion was addressed, among others, by Meraj Molla MP, deputy divisional director of Primary Education Directorate of Rajshahi Syed Nazim Uddin and district education officer Nafisa Begum.
