SYLHET: CNG filling station and conversion workshop owners association enforced an indefinite strike across the district from Tuesday protesting the attack of BCL men at a CNG station.
Confirming the matter, the divisional president of association, Fayezur Rahman, said, “We have called the programme protesting BCL attack on our CNG station.”
Meanwhile, he demanded exemplary punishment of the BCL men for demanding extortions from the CNG station owners.
On September 5, BCL activists went on a rampage at city’s Surma Autocare CNG Refueling Station and damaged valuable worth Tk. 50 lakh as the owner of the station refused to give them extortion.
A case accusing seven to eight men was filed in this connection on the same day.
On Monday, a group of BCL activists attacked the house of Fayezur Rahman and asked him to withdraw the case.”
Later, Fayezur Rahman logged a general dairy with Shah Paran thana in this connection.
