DHAKA: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Gono Bishwabidyalay and Heidelberg University of Germany for awarding higher degrees and conducting research and training on medical physics and biomedical engineering, said a press release.
The news release said the deal was signed during Gono Bishwabidyalay Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed’s recent visit to Germany.
Under the agreement, the two universities will extend cooperation in various fields, including sharing of knowledge by faculty members, exchange of teachers, awarding fellowship to newer teachers, development of the medical physics and biomedical department and creating scope for joint research at MSc and PD level.
Gono Bishwabidyalay is the lone university in Bangladesh, which offers graduate and post graduate degrees on medical physics and biomedical engineering as a new emerging discipline, it added.
