DHAKA: At least 50 people were injured in a clash between students and police in Bhola Government College following a student arrest on Tuesday.
Sources said police held a student over the incident of Monday’s clash between bus-workers and students.
Students staged a demonstration procession protesting the student arrest at noon in Bangla School intersection of the district town and locked into a clash with police as they obstructed their procession charging batons that left 50 people injured.
The law enforcers threw 10 rounds of tear-shells to bring the situation under control.
A number of police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) forces were deployed to avert the further untoward situation.
