Dhaka: Comrade Chowdhury Giasuddin, valiant freedom fighter (FF) and founding member of Bangladesh Institute of Labor Studies (BILS), died of old age ailments on early Tuesday.
He was 70.
The comrade breathed last at 12:45am at his Chittagong Mirsarai upazila residence, family sources said.
Giasuddin left behind wife, one son and three daughters, a host of relatives, friends, co-comrades and many admirers to mourn his death.
BILS chairman Habibur Rahman Siraj, its secretary general Nazrul Islam Khan and other trade union leaders expressed their deep shock in a condolence massage at the death of their comrade.
They preyed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
