MOULVIBAZAR: Two people were killed in separate road accidents in College Intersection area under Rajnagar upazila of the district on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Shafiqur Rahman, 65, an expatriate of London, Shawkat Mia, 19, son of Jamir Ali, hailed from Taharlamua village of the upazila.
Shawkat was a student of second year of Rajnagar Degree College.
Police sources told that a truck crushed into an auto-rickshaw in Rajnagar College area, leaving him injured critically.
He was rushed to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital. Later, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to Osmani Medical College Hospital.
In another accident, a microbus knocked Shawkat down while he was returning home by motorbike, leaving him dead on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge of Rajnagar Thana Nazimuddin told banglanews that the dead bodies were sent to Moulvibazar hospital morgue.
