Largest Eid jamaat at Sholakia held

KISHOREGANJ: The largest Eid-ul-Fitr congregation of the country was held at Sholakia Eidgah Maidan in the district at 10:00am.

Thousands of devotees from home and abroad joined the largest Eid jamaat, sources said.

Sholakia Eidgah Maidan of the district was prepared to hold the biggest Eid-ul-Fitr congregation in the country, maintaining a long-running tradition.

Kisahoreganj district administration said took all out preparations to hold the jamaat peacefully.

A huge number of devotees from across the world, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India, Pakistan and England, attended the Eid prayers.

Different TV channels broadcast the Eid congregation live.

Maulana Farid Uddin Masud led the open-air prayer session where thousands of Muslims from different parts of the country and world gathered at the Eidgah from early in the morning.

A special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for peace, development and welfare of the people of the country as well as Muslim Ummah.

Eidgah Steering Committee, local municipality, different government organizations and district administration jointly organized the colossal jamaat.

Special trains and buses were available for easy journey of the devotees to join the jamaat.

The first Eid jamaat in Sholakia Eidgah Maidan was held in 1828 where some 125,000 devotees offered the prayers.
