DHAKA: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruq Khan inaugurated a new website for ‘Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB)’, a national organization for tourism actions.
The domain address of the website is www.tourismboard.gov.bd.
The inauguration programme was held at the Ministry auditorium Sunday.
The new website includes information about Bangladesh Tourism Board and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, addresses of hotels-tour operators-travel agents, their activities, map of Bangladesh, tourist spots, cultural heritages, images, photo galleries, e-brochure, tourism directory, state laws concerning tourism and latest news regarding tourism.
Internet surfers can easily explore and download information regarding tourism in Bangladesh from the website.
The website visitors can also directly ask the minister and chief executive officer necessary questions by clicking on a certain button.
In addition, the government has taken a round the year international tourism promotional campaign ‘Visit Bangladesh’ from November targeting to increase numbers of foreign tourists from present four lakh to one million.
As an effort to digitalize the campaign, BTB launched the website.
The function was also attended, among others, by state Minister for Primary and Mass Education Ministry M Motahar Hossain, Secretary Ataharul Islam, BTB chief executive officer Aktaruzzaman Khan Kabir and Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) President MA Muhaimin Saleh.
