NILPHAMARI: A Nilphamari Court granted a two-day remand to the school teacher who held for leaking secret information of Bangladesh to Indian Border Security Force (BSF) for police interrogation.
The accused was identified as Mir Masud Tarek alias Khokon, 48, son of Mokaddes Ali of West Kharibari village and an assistant teacher of West Kharibari High School.
The court passed the order Sunday after police produced him before the court with five days remand prayer, said Investigation Officer of the case ATM Gulam Rasul.
Earlier on Friday, BGB personnel held the man and recovered some important documents from his possession.
Dimla Frontier’s Thanarhat BGB Camp Commander Bachchu Molla told banglanews, “Patrolling BGB personnel held him while he was illegally intruding into India. He has also been leaking Bangladesh’s secret information to BSF members for TK 5,000 a month for a long time with the help of Indian cattle trader.”
He was handed over to Dimla thana police in the evening.
On that day, BGB Kaliganj Frontier Camp Nayek Subedar Jakir Hossain filed a case regarding the matter with Dimla thana.
