DHAKA: Opposition BNP Standing Committee Member Barrister Moudud Ahmed Sunday expressed apprehension that whether the Prime Minister wants the implementation of the Padma Bridge project.
He came up with the assertion while addressing a discussion meeting organized by Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Dal held at the National Press Club on Sunday morning.
Mentioning PM’s remarks in London, the senior BNP leader said the PM herself wants to continue dispute against the World Bank (WB) as she is trying to make failure the endeavor of the Finance Minister.
Mentioning that the government as ‘immature’ and ‘inexperienced’, he said, “People wants to know whether the Prime Minister wants the implementation of the Padma Bridge project or not.”
He also said, “As the government is taking actions according to the WB, the government admits the Padma Bridge graft.”
The opposition BNP lawmaker said, “Indulging corruption regarding Padma Bridge, the PM stigmatized the whole nation along with the government.”
He also said the bridge is for the millions of people not for a particular any political party.
With Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Dal President Major (retd) MM Mehbub Rahman in the chair, the discussion meeting was also addressed, among others, by BNP chairperson’s advisor Dr M Osman Faruk, Swadhinata Forum President Abu Naser M Rahmatullah and Juba Dal Central Committee Member Gias Uddin Mamun.
