DHAKA: The International Crime Tribunal (ICT)-2 is set to pass an order whether charge would be framed against Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Ali Ahasan Mohammad Mojaheed for his alleged involvement in ‘crimes against humanity’.

The Jamaat leader is facing 32 war crimes charges for his alleged involvement in the killings of freedom fighters and intellectuals.

On June 5, a three-member ICT-2 team led by Falze Kabir fixed the date after hearing the arguments of defense lawyer barrister Abdur Razzak.

On May 21, the ICT-2 ended the charge framing hearing by reading out the allegations against Jamat-e-Islami leader.

On July 23, Mojaheed along with Jamaat Ameer Matiur Rahman Mizami and Nayeb-e Ameer Delwar Hossain Sayedee were shown arrested in the case filed with Kadamtali thana on May 23.

Earlier, the Jamaat bigwig was arrested on June 29 on charge of hurting religious sentiments. He is also an accused of several charges, including war crime.
