DHAKA: Country’s one of the critically acclaimed drama serials ‘Poush Phaguner Pala’ will reach to the 200th episode on Tuesday.
The serial, jointly directed by Afsana Mimi and Rakesh Basu, will be aired at 9:20pm on ATN Bangla under the title ‘Parachute Nibedita Poush Phaguner Pala’.
Based on the trilogy by one of the major novelists of Bangla literature Gajendrakumar Mitra, the drama is scripted by Tanvir Hossain Prabal.
The star-studded serial includes Ferdousi Majumdar, Humayun Faridi, Mamunur Rashid, Raisul Islam Asad, Keya Chowdury, Zahid Hasan, Sadia Islam Mou, Azad Abul Kalam, Tropa Majumdar and Shams Suman, among others.
Revolving round a zamindar family of 1960s, the play was shot in Belishwar village in Dhamrai to make the serial more realistic.
‘Shooting location is very important since we have been working for a drama serial which needs a historical backdrop,’ says the serial’s one of the directors and country’s one of the popular actors Afsana Mimi.
On the eve of the airing of the 200th episode, Mimi expressed her feelings to banglanews24.com saying, ‘I am very happy and grateful to my team. Credit goes to them’.
The actor-director also expresses her gratitude to the villagers of Belishwar saying, ‘They are very cooperative. Without their cooperation I could not do this big job’.
Mimi hopes that the serial, which is aired every Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:20pm, will present more 25 episodes to the audience.
