KISHOREGANJ: Sholakia Eidgah Maidan of the district has been prepared to hold the largest Eid-ul-Fitr congregation in the country, maintaining a long-running tradition.
Kisahoreganj district administration said they have taken all out preparations to hold the jamaat peacefully.
Tens of thousands of devotee from home and abroad are expected to join the largest jamaat, sources said.
A huge number of devotees from across the world including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India, Pakistan and England will attend the Eid prayers.
Different TV channels will cover the Eid Congregation live.
Maulana Farid Uddin Masud will lead the open-air prayer session where thousands of Muslims from different parts of the country and world will gather at the Eidgah from early in the morning.
The jamaat will be held at 10:00am.
A special munajat will also be offered seeking divine blessings for peace, development and welfare of the people of the country as well as Muslim Ummah.
Eidgah Steering Committee, local municipality, different government organizations and district administration will jointly organize the mammoth jamaat.
Special trains and buses will be available for easy journey of the devotees to join the jamaat.
The first Eid jamaat in Sholakia Eidgah Maidan was held in 1828 where some 125,000 devotees offered the prayers.
It will be the 185th congregation at Sholalika Eidgah Maidan of Kishoreganj town.
