Train kills youth in city

DHAKA: A youth was killed as a train knocked him down in city’s Tejgaon area Saturday noon.

The deceased was identified as Nazmul Hossain Nannu, 27, son of Afzal Hossain of Sirajganj district.

The deceased’s friend Jahangir Hossain told banglanews, “Nazmul came to my residence in Mirpur Mazar road area in the city on Friday evening.”

 “A train left from Dhaka knocked him down while we were walking toward Magbazar from Tejgaon area on the rail track around 12:30pm, injuring him critically,” he added.

Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.

Medical outpost police held Jahangir as no family member of Nazmul was present there.
