B’baria clash injures 30

BRAHMANBARIA: At least 30 people were injured in a clash centering possessing land in Talshohor under Ashuganj upazila of the district Saturday.

Several cocktails were blasted during clash and police recovered two cocktails from the spot.

Witnesses said there was a long standing dispute between Nowshad Mridha and Shafiqul Islam centering possessing land.

On Saturday morning their supporters locked into a bloody clash in the area, leaving 30 people injured, witnesses added.

Talshohor UP Chairman Abu Shama said they failed to settle the dispute among them in several meetings.

Officer-in-Charge of Ashuganj Thana Abdul Kader told banglanews: “On information, police rushed in and took the situation under control.”

Additional police were deployed in the area to avert further clash, he added.
