DHAKA: Dr Muhammad Samad has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Information Technology and Science (UITS).
President and chancellor of the university Md Zillur Rahman appointed him for four years.
Earlier he was the director of Social Welfare and Research Institute of Dhaka University.
He also taught at Yunnan University of US for two times as a guest professor.
In 2009, he did comparative research on social work as a fellow at Katherine Sandal Institute of International Social Work Education under a Washington based CSW.
He had written and published numerous books and journals at international arena and was rewarded numbers of prestigious prizes.
He also discharged duty as senate member at DU and NU and syndicate member of UODA.
