DHAKA: The 6th National Congress of Awami Juba League (AJL) began in city’s Bangabandhu International Conference Centre at Agargaon on Saturday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also Awami League President inaugurated the AJL congress in the morning.
Awami Juba League leaders and activists of different thanas and wards of Dhaka metropolitan gathered at the council venue.
The organization’s leaders and activists across the country also joined the council.
The last national congress of AJL was held on July 25 in 2003 in which Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak was elected as its chairman and Mirza Azam as general secretary.
Some 25 councillors from each of the organizational district units of AJL across the country are set to exercise their voting rights at the congress to elect new leaders of the youth organization.
