DINAJPUR: Around 2000 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir were Thursday sued for their alleged involvement in attacking 50 people, including 30 cops, vandalizing vehicles, obstructing police work and creating rampage in Ranirbandar road area under Chirirbandar upazila.
Police filed two cases with the Thana regarding the matter in the evening.
Meanwhile, eight people who were earlier held in the connection were shown arrest in the case.
Dinajpur Thana OC Tarikul Islam told banglanews, " Chirirbandar Thana inspector (investigation) Harisul Islam filed a case with the Thana against 2000 Jamaat-Shibir men, mentioning the name of 55 people in the evening.”
On the other hand, SI Masud Rana filed a case against the same Jamaat-Shibir cadres for obstructing police work and creating rampage.
Earlier on Monday, at least 15 police personnel and 20 Jamaat-Shibir men were injured in a clash in Ranirbandar road area.
