DHAKA: The Commerce Ministry has set its export target a total of $ 2800 crore for the fiscal year 2012-13 which is 14.5 percent higher that the last fiscal year.
A meeting on ‘National Export Goal Settlement for 2012-13’ set the target held at the secretariat in the city with Commerce Minister GM Quader in the chair Thursday.
After the meeting, expecting to accomplish the target, the Jatiya Party lawmaker told journalists, “Reviewing previous years’ export affairs and discussing with the trade organizations, we have set the mark.”
He said, “The new target will assist to achieve the growth declared in current budget.”
Commerce Secretary M Golam Hossain, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Vice-chairman Shubhashish Bose, FBCCI representatives and high officials of the Ministry and EPB were also present at the meeting.
In addition, last year revenue was USD 24, 418, 300,000, which was 6.5 percent higher than the fiscal year 2010-11.
