DHAKA: Investors’ confidence again face a threat as they witnessed fall in the benchmark indices of country’s bourses on Tuesday for the sixth straight trading day.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 14 points to stand at 4,631 at the close on the day trading.
The volume of transactions, however, increased to Tk 2,359 million from Monday’s Tk 1,835 million. Trade deals stood at 74, 243 against the previous day’s 59,265.
Of the issues traded, 128 advanced, 110 declined and 18 remained unchanged.
LANKABAFIN topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 123 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, GP, MPETROLEUM, JAMUNAOIL, BEXIMCO, CITYBANK, UCBL, MICEMENT and PADMAOIL.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,834 by dropping over 20 points.
Out of the issues traded, 68 gained, 91 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
On Sunday, the benchmark indices of DSE and CSE shed 70 and 117 points respectively.
