DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia expressed apprehension over Prime Minister’s recent remark as it might encourage the corrupt politicians and ministers.
The BNP leader came up with the apprehension in a human chain programme held in front of the National Press Club Saturday.
Criticizing the Prime Minister, Barrister Rafiqul said, “PM gave a clean certificate to a corrupt minister like Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).”
Mentioning that Abul Hossain would never loot public properties if he is patriot, he said, “The brave and patriot never loot public assets rather save those sacrificing lives.”
Indicating the incumbent government, he added: “Abul Hossain was forced to resign through public pressure and it will also happen in reinstating caretaker government.”
He also alleged that the Prime Minister and Finance Minister are delivering contradictory speeches.
With Humayun Kabir Bepari in the chair, the human chain programme was addressed, among others, by BNP organizing secretary Advocate Mojibur Rahman Sarwar MP, Ruhul Kuddus Talukder Dulu and Major (retd) M Hanif.
