Section 144 imposed in Jhenidah

JHENIDAH: Local administration Tuesday imposed section 144 in Hamdard area of the district to avert an imminent clash between Jamaat and Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee as they convened separate programmes at the same venue.

Sources said local administration imposed section 144 to be enforced from 6am till 6pm on Wednesday apprehending disruption of law-and-order in the area.

Jhenidah Sadar Police Station OC Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury told banglanews confirmed the matter to banglanews.
