DHAKA: Chairman of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Dr. Ahmed Mohammad Ali met BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening in order to discuss different bilateral issues.
Sources said the IDB chairman paid a courtesy visit to the visiting opposition chief at her hotel room in Jeddah in the evening.
Among others, Khaleda’s advisor Riaz Rahman, BNP vice chairman Shamser Mobin Chowdhury, former BNP lawmaker Mosaddek Ali Falu, secretary for ICT Sharif Shah Kamal Taz and Khaleda’s personal secretary Saleh Ahmed were present during the meeting.
Earlier, the opposition leader of the House left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia on Friday night for treatment.
A regular flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the former prime minister landed at Jeddah King Adbul Aziz Airport at about 3:45am (Saudi Standard Time).
Earlier, the opposition leader took treatment from Bangkok.
Recently, the Saudi ambassador to Dhaka met Khaleda Zia and invited her on behalf of the Saudi King Abdullah to visit the country.
Khaleda is scheduled to return home on June 21.
