JESSORE: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday alleged that opposition leader Khaleda Zia visited India for “oiling” to assume power through the next national election.
“The BNP likes India when they are in power and they take policy of anti India when they are in opposition. But, the party is oiling India this time for the sake of assuming power,” she said.
The premier, also ruling Awami League president, came up with the allegation while addressing a rally held Jessore Eidgah Maidan.
Criticizing the previous BNP government for its misrule and misdeeds, she said, “The people of the country would not allow to assume power again by the terrorists and corrupt and those who are out to save war criminals in the name of movement.”
Jessore District Unit Awami League organized the rally with its President Ali Reza Razu in the chair.
The government has declared Jessore, a northwestern district, 300 kilometer off capital Dhaka, as the first digital district in the day aimed at providing major public services through online.
The rally was also addressed, among others, by Home Minister Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Information and Communication Technology Minister Mostafa Faruq Mohammad and AL Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif.
