DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked fall again in its price indices on Monday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 21 points only to stand at 4,266 at the close on the second trading day of the week.
The volume of transactions, however, increased to Tk 1,428 million from Sunday’s Tk 1,737 million. Trade deals stood at 53,834 against the previous day’s 45,180.
Of the issues traded, 103 advanced, 130 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 119 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, MPETROLEUM, NBL, KEYACOSMET, LAFSURCEML, LANKABAFIN, TITASGAS, SQURPHARMA and MICEMENT.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,200 by dropping over 12 points.
Out of the issues traded, 48 gained, 122 declined and 14 remained unchanged.
On Sunday, the benchmark indices at DSE and CSE shed 12 and 39 points respectively.
