DHAKA: Law enforcers arrested some 67 activists of Jamaat-Shibir across the country on Wednesday and Tuesday night apprehending sabotage.
Police held two Shibir activists from capital’s Kamalapur area and another from Bijoynagar.
Two Shibir men were held from Narayanganj district town in the morning.
Police held nine Shibir activists from Sylhet Engineering College on Wednesday morning.
In several raids in Noakhali six Jamaat activists were held on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Faridpur Kotwali Thana police arrested 14 Shibir activists on Tuesday night from a mess in the district town.
In Tangail, law enforcers nabbed 12 Jamaat leaders-activists from various upazillas early Wednesday.
Police detained eight Jamaat-Shibir men in a drive on Wednesday from various upazillas of Comilla district.
Besides, two Jamaat men were arrested from Sunamganj.
Police held four Jamaat men raiding in several villages of Gangni upazila of Meherpur district on Tuesday night.
Seven Jamaat activists were held from Savar of Dhaka district on Wednesday morning.
In the latest development, Jamaat called dawn-to-dusk hartal for Thursday.
