Death toll rises to 111

PM shocked at Ashulia RMG fire

FROM ASHULIA, SAVAR: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock and distress at the loss of lives and properties caused by the devastating fire at a garment factory at Ashulia in Saver.

In a message, she said, "I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families. I pay tribute to the resilience of the survivors and hope that they would be able to recover soon from the devastating effects of the fir.”

GOC Syed Hassan Suhrawardy confirmed the matter to banglanews Sunday.

Earlier, the death toll in the fire, which broke out on Saturday evening, rose to 111 on Sunday.

Fire Service director (Operation) Major Mahbub confirmed the matter to banglanews.
