LONDON : Expressing concern over missing BNP leader M Elias Ali, Anne Main, chair of all-party parliamentary group, termed the incident sorrowful.
The chair of the all-party parliamentary also said the issue would be placed to the British Parliament very soon.
He came up with the concern when a delegation of Bangladeshis expatriate in UK met him to ask cooperation from British Government in order to impose pressure on Bangladesh Government for finding Elias Ali out.
Ann Main said, “We shall try to get support of necessary number of MPs to call Early Day Motion (EDM) in the parliament.”
At the time, he asked the delegation to submit the matter in a written statement.
Commemorating his last meeting with Elias Ali in Sylhet in his recent visit to Bangladesh, Ann Main said his missing incident is a threat for democracy in Bangladesh.
The British Parliament member promised all-out support from British Government to find out the high up BNP leader.
Elias Ali’s younger brother Askir Ali, Elias Ali Mukti Parishad UK unit member secretary Dr Mujibur Rahman, Elias Ali foundation chairman Shah Zaman Nurul Huda, Friends of Conservative Bangladesh vich-president Rafat Khan, Minar Ahmed and former student leader Abdul Basit Bokul were among others present at the meeting.
