DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank governor Dr. Atiur Rahman said at present a total of 37 banks are providing full online services to people. Meanwhile, four banks are giving partial online service while the others are working to implement the process.
He said, “Almost 79 percent banks are giving online services to people in the country.”
He came up with the information while addressing the 4th International e-banking and mobile commerce conference at a city hotel on Monday.
Dr. Atiur said, “A total of 23 banks got the permission of running mobile banking. Of them, 14 have already started the function. Some 7, 00,000 clients got the opportunity to open accounts under the service.”
