DHAKA: BNP standing committee member MK Anwar said the World Bank may change its decision over funding the Padma Bridge project if finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith submits his resignation admitting his weakness and incapability.
He said, “The WB authority may change their decision if the government requests them again by terminating the accused after fair investigation.”
He came up with the remarks while addressing a round table meeting at the National Press Club auditorium on Wednesday morning.
Urging the WB authority to reconsider their decision, Anwar said, “The issue is insulting for the entire nation and it has affected our prestige.”
Criticizing the Anti Corruption Commission, he said, “ACC became the pet of the present government. Although the people of the country know about the corrupted persons, only ACC authority does not recognize them.”
