KUSHTIA: Local administration imposed section 144 in Kumarkhali municipality area of the district to avert an immense clash between BNP and Awami League as they convened separate programmes at the same venue and time on Monday.
Kumarkhali UNO Moniruzzaman said section 144 was imposed in the area from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Kumarkhali Adarsha College ground.
Kumarkhali Police Station OC Ali Newaz told banglanews, “Police were deployed in important spots to avoid untoward situation.”
