DHAKA: The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) dipped below 4000-point mark as most of issues traded on Tuesday declined.
The DSE general index shed over 156 points or 3.67 per cent minus to stand at 3,988 at the close on the day trading.
The volume of transactions, however, increased to Tk 1,851 million from Monday’s Tk 1,645 million. Trade deals stood at 64,682 against the previous day’s 61,654.
Of the issues traded, 13 advanced, 234 declined and 11 remained unchanged.
GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 109 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, MPETROLEUM, LAFSURCEML, JAMUNAOIL, SQURPHARMA, UNIQUEHRL, LANKABAFIN, BEXIMCO and SIBL.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 7,758 by dropping over 257 points.
Out of the issues traded, 7 gained, 175 declined and 3 remained unchanged.
On Monday, the benchmark indices of DSE and CSE shed 127 and 206 points respectively.
