DHAKA : Trading on the country’s two bourses is underway showing positive in share-price indices on Sunday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index rose over 53 points to stand at 4,353 at 12:36 pm on the first trading day of the week.
Trade deals stood at 43,277 with transaction at Tk 970 million. Of the issues traded, 196 advanced, 30 declined and 17 remained unchanged.
SAIHAMCOT topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 91 million having changed hands during the time.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8,339 by gaining over 87 points at 12:33 pm.
Out of the issues traded, 99 gained, 25 declined and 23 remained unchanged.
On June 21, the High Court rejected writ petitions filed by 24 directors challenging section 2CC of Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) ordinance that allows the regulator to ask for minimum shareholding.
The HC order again makes valid the SEC circular for holding two percent stake in their companies by individual directors and 30 percent by sponsor-directors together.
