SYLHET: The government has brought a revolutionary change in country’s education sector which was a biggest challenge in near past.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid came up with the observation in an exclusive interview with banglanews.

He said, “Students had to suffer a lot of problems, including lack of perfect education policy and necessary number of text books in the past but now the government has made it possible to provide the students with all the text books timely.”

While talking to this correspondent on Tuesday at Sylhet Circuit House, the education minister Nahid placed a list of success of his ministry which has been achieved since the Awami League assumed in power in 2009.

He said, “There was no perfect education policy in the country, but we have formulated an excellent education policy for the wellbeing of the students.”

In the past there was no fixed time-table for holding examinations therefore students had to lose valuable time of their study life, he said.

The minister said, “But, students have to suffer from no such problem as they have fixed time for exams and result also is published timely.”

Nahid alleged the students were taught fake and fabricated history in the past but his ministry reprinted the books to rectify all those shortcomings.

Nahid added: “We have introduced e-book so that students from all parts of the world can read those (books) through online.”

Apart from this, the government has taken initiatives to establish branches of National University in all the divisions of the country to remove complexities, the minister added.
