BOGRA: Noted lawyer Dr Shahdeen Malik said the report published by Human Rights Watch (HRW) regarding BDR mutiny trial and Rapid Action Battalion is not erroneous.
He came up with the observation while speaking in an inauguration programme of human rights organization ‘Justice’ on Saturday.
Shahdeen said it is not true that HRW don’t have the right to talk about Bangladesh. They can remark about us as we comment on Afghanistan, Iraq or any other country.
RAB have done some good jobs but they have violated human rights as well, he said.
There is no scope to rule out the report, he added.
With Justice Bogra committee president Advocate Anwarul Islam Bacchu in the chair, Deputy Commissioner Sarwar Mahmud, additional police superintendent Abdul Warish, Justice general secretary Advocate Amirul Islam, vice-president Advocate Sadrul Anam Ranju, Dr Mashiur Rahman, Dr CM Idrish Ali, journalist Pradip Sankar Bhattacharya, Advocate Sheikh Mokhlesur Rahman, Ataur Rahman Khan Mukta, TMSS Executive Director Dr Hosne Ara were present in the programme.
